The graphic poster has one of the longest and richest histories of any medium of graphic design. From the early days in the mid-15th century with the advent of the printing press, to lithography in the late 1700's, from a means of artistic expression to the information delivery needs of society & war, the graphic poster is uniquly suited to deliver content to viewers in a direct and effective maner. Situated at the crossroads between art & society, the poster is one of the best ways to inform, sell, or spread disinformation to a wide audience & inspire change.
These posters show a representation of our work. Sometimes the inspiration behind the posters are arbitrary, such as a bird showing up on our porch or an event we want to honor with a poster. Other times, responding to a specific commercial brief or cultural moment.
The graphic poster has one of the longest and richest histories of any medium of graphic design. One could argue that the cave paintings in Lascaux, France are early poster designs. Later, in the mid-15th century with the advent of the printing press, to lithography in the late 1700's, from a means of artistic expression to the information delivery needs of society & war, the graphic poster is uniquly suited to deliver content to viewers in a direct and effective maner. Situated at the crossroads between art & society, the poster is one of the best ways to inform, sell, or spread messages and (dis)information to a wide audience & inspire change or fuel complacency.
